Last year I made business card holders out of paper and I promised that I would make a video on how I made the cards. They are super easy and can be adapted to meet your needs.

Trip to Seattle …Impress Rubber Stamps

I had a wonderful time in Seattle and was able to visit family. It was so great to see them all! While there, I also had time to visit a couple of amazing stores and wanted to share some photos with you.

If you have a chance to visit Impress Rubber Stamps, I promise you will love their store. I had a wonderful time visiting their Tukwila, Washington Store and met one of the owners, Ann Zazzi.  The store is amazing and I can’t wait to visit again! In addition to making their own rubber stamps, they now make their own pigment inks called Fresh Ink and they are gorgeous. There are over 40 colors to choose from!

These stamps are designed by Impress and they are gorgeous!

Tangerine is the 2012 color of the year and they have a designed several beautiful inks in that color family. I love these cards and the clothespins are too cute.

Jenn from Jen’s Ink Spot created this amazing butterfly card using twine from the Twinery. So creative and a perfect use for your twine. Click here for her tutorial.

Shannon from Pink Tulle with Feathers and Sequins created this cute envelope card by adhering twine to sticky tape and then cutting out the envelope using a die. Click here for her tutorial. I love the twine from the Twinery! One of my favorite things!

I am seriously addicted to PunchFork.com and think you will be too! Punchfork uses real time data like tweets and Facebook shares to measure which recipes are the most popular. You get to see the most popular recipes and you can see them in a magazine like layout. There is also a free iPad and iPhone app. You are going to love this site!!

I love to make rosettes and have made a couple of videos on them and so wish I would have known about this technique before I made my videos. Click here for the best rosette idea ever from Queen Lightwell owner of the Love Like Crazy blog. It will change the way you make rosettes.

All About Crafting ……. New Letter Envy Cartridge Giveaway!

Happy Birthday Card

I made this cute birthday card for a close friend’s daughter and hopefully it will still be a surprise. Her birthday is coming up and she is going to be 13! Oh no, I have probably said too much!

This card was so easy to make, but I still need to finish the inside sentiment. The card opens so there is room for an inside sentiment. I am running out of time and I may end up writing something instead of using a Cricut cut.

For this project, I used a free svg file from Shery K Designs and it was soo easy to make. Shery included one SVG file and one MTC file along with 2 printable 8.5 x 11 inch papers. Click here for her file. While you are there, be sure to check out her blog. She is a very talented designer!

I used my Cameo and flood filled the images with her fun digital paper. You could also print the paper using your colored printer and then cut out a Cricut Image. I know there is an adorable Cricut purse card on the Imagine Art Cartridge and several on the Paisley cartridge. You could also weld two Cricut purse images together to form a cute card.

I have a new obsession and I bet you know what it is. I am in love with digital paper and especially enjoy all the amazing freebies. Thank goodness, because I am buying way too much paper! This set is currently free along with over 31 additional paper and digital packs. Check out Design Digital’s freebies, but while you are there you will fall in love with all their designers. Warning! You can spend hours looking at this site and buying paper! Enjoy the beautiful freebies.

Beth from Thunderbirdlindy by Design created a beautiful and intricate tea cup filled with gorgeous flowers using Cricut Cartridges. Her tea cup is from the new Tags Bags Boxes and More2 cartridge. I so need to order that cartridge as I love and use the first one a lot! Beth also has a very detailed tutorial on how to make this elegant project. You will be impressed!

When I discovered Craft Crave I did a happy dance. Lucky for me….only my cats saw me! Craft Cave is a search engine that’s collects freebies. It is not perfect but gives you access to a variety of crafting freebies. Here is an explanation from the owners telling more about this site. “This blog is dynamically constructed by a computer program. You can think of it as an automated search engine for freebies, tutorials, challenges, etc found in other craft blogs. The program works by going through a list of thousands of blogs that it has found and it scans those blogs to identify (1) if they have been updated since the system last looked and (2) if they contain any new freebies etc. If both of these are true, then the system lists it here. It uses a bunch of “rules/patterns” to identify useful posts in blogs and then another bunch of “rules/patterns” to try to find the best preview image to use.” Keep in mind it is constructed by a computer so it is not perfect, but boy is it fun!

Tanya from Nonna’s Craft Corner decorated a paper mache heart box that would be perfect for a gift. Not only is the box beautiful, but she also provides a detail tutorial. I would love to receive a box like this as a gift.

Kevin and Amanda is a unique and visually appealing blog. Their blog includes sections on recipes, photos, scrapbooking and free fonts. I love their photos and click here to see photos of their trip to Wonderland Bakery. I so want to visit. Also be sure to check out their huge collection of free fonts.

Mod Podge Techniques….New Ideas to Try, Including Glitter Glue that Will Not Flake Off

I use a lot of Mod Podge in my projects but decided to try using it in a different way. I had two large bottles just setting on my shelf looking very lonely so I tried a couple of new techniques. I just finished reading Paper Crafts Cool Tools magazine and thought I would try out a couple of their ideas for making stains out of Mod Podge and guess what? They worked perfectly.

When working with Mod Podge, I also discovered a quick and easy way to make glitter glue that will not flake off. In the past, I used a different product for making my glue, but Mod Podge worked perfectly.

Paper Trays

These paper trays are made using a free pdf template from SC Johnson’s web site.

Here is the link to the free pdf file. This tray is so easy to make and can be made using card stock, cereal boxes, calendars and just about any type of paper you have on hand. I used double sided paper and added an extra layer to the front and back.

Barbara from the Silhouette Plus Forum, created a free file for the Silhouette. If you are interested in the free file, click here to view the forum. You will need to register before you are able to access this file. I have learned so much from this informative message board. Everyone is so helpful and kind.

I used digital wood grained paper that came with my Cameo to create double sided paper and added an extra layer to the front and back for stability. Her file made it so easy! Thanks again Barbara. Did I mention that I love the print and cut feature of my new Cameo?

I made a smaller version of this tray. I used the Cameo file, but you if don’t have a Silhouette, you can resize the free pdf to make a smaller tray. I made double sided paper and added an extra layer to the front and back for stability. You could make smaller trays to hold your glitter or fun treats for your next party.

This beautiful carrot box is from Michele Kovack. You may know Michele from her blog, Thoughts of a Cardmaking Scrapbooker, or from the Cricut blogs. She is a published artist and I love her work. This is my all-time favorite carrot box and perfect for Easter!

I know you all have heard of blog hops, but check out this blog train blog. The blog trains are every other month and consist of 70 or more talented designers. Each designer offers a free digital kit or digital paper pack and their individual blogs are beautiful. To make things even easier, there is a slide show here of all the participant’s giveaways. All aboard… you so do not want to miss this train!!

Now for another must see. I am totally addicted to Tip Junkie and visit frequently. Click here to download a set of Vintage paper Dolls. All you need is a color printer and a scissors. Your children or grandchildren will love these! Adorable!

How to Make Quick and Easy Pencil Toppers

While shopping at Target (in the dollar section) I found some adorable pencils and decided to make pencil toppers. Our Dollar store has quite an assortment of pencils too!

These toppers would make great gifts for a student, teacher or in my case me!

You can also use the eraser with these toppers, and they are quick to remove if you want to change the design.

Did I mention that they would be fun to add to an Easter basket? Scroll down to see the video. This could not be easier!

Business Card Holders and More….

This business card holder is from the Silhouette store and was so easy to make. All I did was cut the file and add an additional layer to the front panel and the interior panel.  I love my Cameo and continue to be impressed with its ability to cut intricate designs. 

This holder is pretty sturdy, but you could also glue it to a covered piece of chipboard to make it more stable.

Last year I made  business card holders out of paper and thought you might like to see them again.
