Vintaj Video

Last week I posted a photo of a project that I did using Vintaj products and I promised to make a video. It turned out that it took two videos to show you all the fun new Vintaj products and techniques. On the first video, I talk about all the Vintaj products and show you how to use your Cuttlebug or embossing machine and embossing folders to make these cute earrings and more.

The earrings were so easy to make, but you could also make amazing embellishments for your cards and pages using these products and your embossing machine. Any embossing folder will work with Vintaj! You can also use your alcohol inks on Vintaj metals and I will show you how in the following video.

Thanks for visiting and stay tuned for part Two.

Vintaj

I recently attended a Vintaj demonstration at Red Magpie Beads in Helena and fell in love with all the Vintaj products. Thanks Arlene for being such a great teacher and all your help!

After the demo, I bought a number of brass findings, blanks and the patinas produced by Ranger. I made this necklace using Vintaj brass and their gorgeous patinas.

I can’t wait to show you everything I learned about Vintaj. I am working on a video and will have it posted next week. Be sure to visit Red Magpie Beads in Helena, MT to see a great selection of Vintaj products and more! In the video I will show you lots of the new products, how to use your Cuttlebug to emboss the metal, how to use both alcohol inks and the new patina inks to color your embossed metal and more! We will also make the necklace that you see in the photograph above. Whew! Can you tell I am excited about Vintaj?

Vintaj is not just for jewelry, you can make great embellishments for your cards and scrapbook pages. I can’t wait to share all the new products!  You can even use your Cuttlebug and Sizzix embossing folders to do the embossing!

Stay tuned….this Wednesday I am doing a fun giveaway in honor of Memorial Day.

Fab Five Friday!

Welcome to Fab Five Friday! For those of you that are new to this blog, every Friday I showcase five blogs, websites or posts that I think you will enjoy.

I am a big fan of Roree Rumph and love these pretty party favors. Be sure to visit her blog, A House of Cards for a very detailed tutorial. She used her Expression 2 and the Once Upon a Princess cartridge to cut the flowers. Adorable! Time to break out that cartridge.

As most of you know, I am a huge glitter fan and I squealed with joy, when I saw this post by Domestic Charm. If you love glitter and who doesn’t, click here to see how to make glitter balloons. I can’t wait to try this. Be sure to be careful so you do not inhale the glitter while making this project.

Speaking of adorable party favors, Thienly Azim from Mod Paperie has designed the cutest favor using a jar stamp and some acetate. Did I forget to mention candy? I love Thienly’s blog and I know you will too! You could even use a jar from the From my Kitchen Cricut cartridge to make this project.

My friend Dixie sent me another wonderful link that I just had to share with all of you stampers. If you want to get into digital stamping, Clearly I Stamp has a link to a quick tutorial. Be sure to scroll down for some adorable cards. I love the ice cream social package and lots of their other digital images. Click here to visit their store, where they sell clear stamps, digital stamps, and lots more. Thanks Dixie!

In the past, I made several videos on how to make and decorate envelopes, but this post by Nancy Stislow shows you how to make any size envelope. Yahoo! There is some math involved but she makes it easy!

Hope you are having a fun filled Fab Five Friday and I will see you Monday with an exciting new project. Hint…it involves some amazing products by Ranger.

Masculine Cards

I tend to panic when I need a quick and easy masculine card. Fortunately, I found this simple design at the Silhouette On-line store. This card took about 15 minutes to make and the hardest part was picking out the papers. This would also make a great Father’s Day card. For a totally different look, you could add a pocket or tie tack.

I cut a one inch circle and offset it using my Cameo. Then I used Word to add the sentiment. Click here to see my video on adding sentiments using Word and here to see my video on adding sentiments using Photoshop.

If you do not have a Cameo or electronic cutter, click here for a very similar card that you can cut using a scissors and ruler. Thanks Susan Roberts for this amazing tutorial. Be sure to check out her blog Rainy Day Creations while you are there!

I thought it would be fun to share some of my other masculine cards with you…just in case you were looking for some quick and easy ideas.

Click here to see the original post. This card could easily be modified for any age.

This card was one of my husband’s favorite cards ever. Can you tell he loves the Grizzly’s football  team? Click here to see the original post.

Every once in a while, I like to make a kit card because I find that it kick starts my creativity. Bo Bunny kits are amazing and I love having time to make a custom envelope! Click here to see the original post.

This card is made using duct tape. What man wouldn’t love it? It would be perfect for a Valentine ’s Day card. Click here to see how to make rosettes using duct tape.

Thanks for visiting and please stay tuned for a fun new video.

Topsy Turvy Diaper Cake Giveaway!

I featured Renee from Topsy Turvy Diaper Cakes on a recent Fab Five Friday post (click here to see original post) and knew you would love her work! I saw her on Martha Stewart and could not wait to post a link to her Etsy store where she sells patterns and video instructions for amazing diaper cakes and accessories made out of baby washcloths and bibs.

After Renee saw my post she contacted me and sent me video directions for five designs! I couldn’t wait to make some of the washcloth designs and share them with you! Can you believe these are made using baby washcloths and you can take them apart and the washcloths are good to use? No sewing needed! What a great gift idea!

I wanted my projects to be part of a floral centerpiece for a baby shower, but I am not a florist, so I took my washcloth treasures to Jourdan a very talented floral designer for Knox Flowers in Helena,MT. She worked her magic and I love how it turned out! Thanks again Jourdan!

First I made the lollipop, then the elephant followed by the hippo.

Can you believe this adorable elephant is made using two baby washcloths?

I think the hippo is my favorite! Warning! These adorable animals are too much fun to make! It will be hard to stop!

Now for the good news, Renee is sponsoring a giveaway that includes free video directions for your choice of a diaper cake plus two washcloths or bib designs. You get to choose!
