Mila

I am taking a few days off from blogging due to the loss of our kitten Mila. Although she was only 1½ years old, she developed severe inflammatory bowel disease and we could not save her. All her vets were wonderful, but she became too weak to survive. She fought a hard fight for the last five weeks and died yesterday.

She was my constant crafting companion and a wonderful sister kitty to our 7 year old cat, Jackson. Bill, Jackson and I will miss her so very much.

Here are a few of our favorite photos from our short time with her.

Welcome to Make it in Minutes Monday… the Mini Series. I thought it would be fun to feature some quick and easy cards or projects that take minutes to make, but look like you spent hours.

But before we get started, click here to enter my Silhouette Portrait giveaway and to check out Silhouette’s mega sale. You are going to love using their print and cut feature.

This desk organizer did take more than a few minutes to make, but was so worth it. I purchased this easy to assemble file (#48177) from the Silhouette on-line store.

You will be surprised at how durable this organizer is. Click here to order an SVG version of Lori’s 3D Drawer Desk Organizer. The great news is that you can cut her SVG file, using a variety of cutting machines including the new Cricut Explore. She even has an assembly video to help make this functional and cute piece. Box Card Part Two

I have received numerous emails regarding my box card that I posted on Monday, asking how to make the card if you do not have a cutting machine.

Thanks to Splitcoast Stampers, here is a link for wonderful step by step instructions that do not require a cutting machine. In addition to directions for a card that fits into an A2 envelope, there are also directions for a card that fits into a 6 x 9 inch envelope. I love options!

I think you will also love their video which demos how to make the larger size.

Have a great day!

Make it in Minutes Monday

Welcome to Make it in Minutes Monday. I thought it would be fun to feature some quick and easy cards or projects that take minutes to make, but look like you spent hours.

I cannot believe this is my first box card and how really easy it was to make. There are lots of instructions for making this type of card posted on the Internet, but I found a way to use my Silhouette to do most of the work.

Lori Whitlock has created several box card designs that you can choose from at the Silhouette on-line store and I love them all. I used the box and star cut from her box card birthday file and replaced her other cuts with chipboard stickers from my stash.

Here is a close-up showing the cute chipboard stickers and how they pop up out of the box.

Its ready to go! This card measures 4.25x5.5 when complete and folds flat to fit in an A2 envelope. Adorable!

I love Lori’s original file and that I can change it to suit my needs. Click here to order an SVG version of Lori’s Box Birthday card. The great news is that you can cut her SVG file, using a variety of cutting machines.

Have a great week and Happy St. Patrick’s Day!!

Sad News

Hello all. I'm going to be taking a break from blogging for a short time to spend time with my family. My mother-in law fell and sustained a massive head trauma. She is in hospice and will not be with us long.

Thank you all for your prayers, phone calls, emails and support. We really appreciate it.

Make it in Minutes Monday Saint Patrick’s Style

Welcome to Make it in Minutes Monday… the Mini Series. I thought it would be fun to feature some quick and easy cards or projects that take minutes to make, but look like you spent hours.

I turned this adorable owl (Design ID#55900) from the Silhouette On-line store into a quick and easy shaped card. First, I cut two offset shapes of the body and glued them together to form the base of the
card. To finish it, I scored the back piece about one inch from the top before gluing the two offset pieces together.

I love how easy it is to make an offset using Silhouette’s Studio software. It is a feature that I frequently use for shadows. Sometimes I weld the pieces together, however this time I used the glue and fold method. I added faux white stitching and lots of bling! Super easy card and so cute!
