Bath Scrunchie Cupcakes

Posted by Picasa

I saw a recipe for Fuzzy Spa Cupcakes on Greenbean Crafterole’s blog and modified her recipe to make cupcakes using bath scrunchies.

You can purchase bath scrunchies at Shopko for $1.00. First I cut a cupcake wrapper using a free svg file. The Cricut Easter Cartridge has a cute cupcake wrapper that you can use and it looks great! Next, I shaped the scrunchie to look like the top of a cupcake. Once I had the right shape, I wrapped the cupcakes in cellophane and tied with ribbon. I used clip art for the cherry, glued it to a toothpick using a glue dot, and inserted the toothpick into the cellophane. These are so easy to do and would make adorable gifts or party favors.

Be sure to check out Greenbean’s blog for directions on how to make cupcakes using spa socks!

I love the idea of using the bath scrubby. I made the socks one for Mother's Day gave them to my mom and my MIL, they loved them. I will have to keep this in mind because they both use the bath scrubbys.

Nubian: The liner is 2 -1/8 inches wide. Checkout the CraftEdge Forum for the free SVG cut. I love that site!

I tried to do this the other day for a baby shower I was hosting and could not for the life of me get the right size wrapper for the bath scrubby and couldn't figure out how to get the scrubby to stay in. I ended up having to ditch the idea :( I wish I saw your post before b/c maybe I could've used the cellophane to help hold the scrubby in.

Thinking of using these as center pieces for my daughters 1 st bday & then giving them out as gifts. Unfortunately we don't know a lot of children so it will be mostly adults! This is great!!

Great idea!! Did you use cellophane bags to wrap the cupcake (if so what size?) or just sheets of cellophane? Thanks!
