How to Make Quick and Easy Easter Baskets Out of Cricut Cupcake Wrappers

I recently saw a cute Easter Basket in a magazine and it got me thinking. Why not make an Easter Basket using a Cricut cupcake wrapper?



I used the Lori’s Garden cupcake wrapper on page 29 to make the basket and sized it using the fit-to-page function on the Imagine. If you don’t have Lori’s Garden, don’t worry, you can use any Cricut Cupcake wrapper for this project. Yahoo! You can also make baskets for different occasions.

The thing about Cricut cupcake wrappers is they do not have a bottom, so my first challenge was to create one. I used a 2 ½ inch Reynolds silver foil baking cup.

I cut off about one inch on the end of the Imagine cupcake wrapper so it would fit perfectly around the Reynolds’s liner and secured the wrapper with tape. Next I attached the Reynolds liner to the inside of the wrapper with sticky tape. I didn’t worry about finishing the inside of the basket, since it was going to be filled with Easter grass and candy. The bottom of the basket is now silver, but you could use any color cupcake liner. I chose the foil, because it was stronger.

Next I cut a handle ¾ x 11 ½ inches and trimmed with my scalloped scissors. A punch would also work. I added ribbon and attached the handle to the inside of my basket, added Easter grass and candy and was done.

Lori’s Garden Imagine cartridge
Baking cup or paper cupcake liner I used Reynolds 2 ½ inch silver foil
Adhesive
Ribbon from my stash
Punch or decorative scissors
