We arrived home late last night after a 2 ½ week trip! Our last stop was the Oregon coast. We were lucky to get a perfect camping spot with a breathtaking view of the ocean. It was so beautiful and I wished you all could have joined us. A special thanks to my best friend Betsy for being the best house sitter ever and for taking care of our two babies or should I say our cats, Jackson and Izzy! No easy task!
Here are some final vacation photos. Thanks so much for allowing me to share my vacation with you.
Boiler Bay, Oregon- at low tide, you can see the remains of an old steam ship boiler.
Cape Arago Lighthouse, near Coos Bay, Oregon.
Devil's Punch Bowl State Park, near Newport, Oregon.
Heceta Head Lighthouse, near Florence, Oregon.
A beautiful flower in the green house at Shore Acres State Park, near Coos Bay, Oregon. Anyone want to help with identifying it?
I will see you on Wednesday with a fun new giveaway! Hint....it involves a Cricut cartridge and goodies. Thanks again for all your support! Starting Friday, I will be back to posting as usual and I have some fun new projects planned. I so missed you all!

Welcome home!! Isn't the Oregon Coast the best?? We spent a week there last September, part of it in Florence and part of it in Brookings. Did you go through downtown Florence? It's got the cutest little shops there. Sounds like you had a good time, now back to reality! lol

Welcome home Linda.. and thank you for taking us with us through your beautiful pictures... makes me want to pack up and take a trip...
Ooh, looked great. We're going in the Fall. Which were the great campgrounds.
That flower is a fuschia......
Oh, oh, oh - how beautiful! My husband and I are talking about going to Oregon next month for our anniversary. I may be really convinced to drive the 8 hours from our house to be able to take pictures like yours. Thanks for sharing. Glad you had a great time and a safe trip!
Linda great pictures. you will have to let us know what kind of camera you use.

What great pics Linda!! We're planning on driving along the coast soon...can't wait!!! Would love to know which campgrounds you'd recommend.
Welcome home!!! :)

The flower might be a bleeding heart????
the flower is a fushia
Laurie,we visited a great candy and ice cream shop and had a wonderful dinner at the International C-Food Restaurant located on the dock. http://www.icmrestaurant.com/
It was great!!
Janie, thanks for the information. I loved the flower and thank you for helping indentify it.
As for the campgrounds, any of the Oregon state campgrounds are winners. Many can be reserved in advance.
Our favorite commecial campground was Sea and Sand by Depoe Bay. You have to get on the first three rows facing the ocean to get an ocean view and it is a little expensive. After taxes, it was $60 per night.
Our favorite state campground was Carl G. Washburn State Campground. You can walk 1/4 mile to the beach and Heceta Head Lighthouse beach is nearby as well. Full hookups were $26 per night, no cable, no cell service or Internet. It looks like the rain forest all through the campground. Just beautiful!

Karen, thanks for the nice comments. My husband is an outstanding photographer and sells some of his prints from time to time. He also does wedding photography and just finished shooting a wedding before we left.
He uses a Canon 7D with a 35-135 mm lens. He also uses 100-400 mm telephoto lens for other shots. He shot over 500 photos, so these are just a sample.
Linda
Terry, thanks for the nice comment. Please see my response to Janie.
You are soo going to have a great time! Oregon is beautiful and the beaches are amazing. I was so pleased to discover that most of the campgrounds had full hook-ups! They also had great tenting sites!
Linda
So glad you loved our coast. As a native oregonian it is the one place to go to relax and unwind. My husband and I are headed to Depoe Bay home of the Dory boats in a couple of weeks for the weekend. Camping at the coast is the best, and I have been to the Shore Acres State Park and your flower is a Fuchsia. Glad you made it back home safe and sound.
Wow Linda I can't believe it. I'm from the UK and we're coming over in Sept to tour Washington and Oregon! I was wondering what it was like and where the craft stores were! and now I know. Thanks you so much for posting Jane

Thanks for sharing all your gorgeous vacation pics with us! I've always wanted to visit Orego but I had no idea it was sooooo beautiful! The lovely flower you're showing is a fuschia : )
I just got back from a three week vacation but I wasn't along the coast at all... I was in farmland! I love lighthouses and your pics are just lovely! That plant is a fuchsia which is easily grown annually and easily propagated too. Welcome home!

What a beautiful trip. Thanks for taking us along. Having 6 Shih Tzus it is hard to go anywhere. My husband and I usually travel separate these days. Someone needs to stay with the babies!!!
Linda, The photos are super. The flower is a fuschia---and is available here in Helena in the spring at Costco, they always have huge hanging baskets. They love shade and here they need misting.
see ya soon,
Donna
Beautiful pictures! Glad you are back. I miss your projects and great tutorials :-)
Oh, what gorgeous photos! We love our lighthouses here in Maine and your photos show we don't have the complete market on those! lol
Thanks for posting craft store photos, too. I placed an order and received my stamps while you were still on vacation - and that from a company I didn't know about previously. How cool was that??
Welcome home.
Great pics! I've been on the Oregon coast also and it is beautiful. The flower you asked about is a fuscia, they sell them here in hanging baskets.
Carol D.
I am no plant expert but that looks like a fuscia plant to me (I used to have a silk/fake one!)
Great photos - you saw some great sights!

You had a great trip it looks like. Western Washington is my territory and I wouldn't trade it for anything. Except I'd like a little warm weather to finish out the summer. It's sure been cold this summer compared to the rest of the United States. Guess we should be glad. Welcome home.
Thanks for sharing your vacation with us. We may be making a road trip next year in the Washington area so I'm keeping the names and locations of those stores you visited.
