Fab Five Friday!

Welcome to Fab Five Friday! For those of you that are new to this blog, every Friday during the summer, I will be showcasing five blogs, websites or posts that I think you will enjoy.

I fell in love with this card by Gloria Stengel . If you love Graphic 45 paper, you will love her blog, Scraps of Life. She is mega talented and she is on both the Spellbinders and Graphic 45 design teams. Wow!

For the most unique postcards ever, check out this post from Martha Stewart. All the clip art is free and the projects look super simple. My favorite is the crab! Wish I would have had these while we were on vacation.

Scrapbooks Etc website has a ton of amazing resources to help scrapbookers. My favorite resources are their free layout sketches that you can download. Click here for your free sketches! Be sure to check out their blog while you are visiting.

One of my all-time favorite non-crafting sites is Hungry Girl. Her website is a must see! I have three of her cookbooks and could not live without them. Anytime you get to eat more food for fewer calories you can count me in. Season 2 of her TV show starts August 7th on the Food Network channel. You just have to check out her cupcake recipes and her TV show!

For more inspiring ideas check out the idea gallery from We R Memory Keepers. I love their ideas for using your Cinch tool. My favorite is the Travel book, complete with project instructions!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are having a fun filled Friday!

Making Flowers Using Air Dry Clay

In April, I saw a video by Creations with Christina on how to make flowers out of polymer clay. It looked like fun, but I wanted to try making clay flowers inexpensively before purchasing a craft oven, tools etc. I found the perfect solution while I was on vacation. Hobby Lobby sells air dry clay and very inexpensive molds, so I just had to try them. I love the result and hope you do too.

And now for the winner of the thank you giveaway!

Thank You Card

I love the chandelier cut on the French Manor cartridge and just had to make this quick and easy Thank You card. There is also a chandelier cut on the Home Décor, Every Day Pop-up and the Summer in Paris cartridges. You could also use a chandelier stamp to make this fun card. Lots of options!

This card measures 5 ½ x 6 inches and the chandelier is cut at 3 ½ inches.
I used Kaiser pearls and most of the paper is from BasicGrey’s Out of Print paper pad that I bought while we were on vacation. I added a ribbon, bow and some pop dots. Super quick and easy!

For more chances to win my thank you giveaway, please leave a comment on this post. The giveaway closes Tuesday at midnight. Thanks again for all your support and I am sooo glad to be back!

Be sure to stop back on Wednesday for a fun new video and to find out if you won the giveaway!

Home At Last!!

We arrived home late last night after a 2 ½ week trip! Our last stop was the Oregon coast. We were lucky to get a perfect camping spot with a breathtaking view of the ocean. It was so beautiful and I wished you all could have joined us. A special thanks to my best friend Betsy for being the best house sitter ever and for taking care of our two babies or should I say our cats, Jackson and Izzy! No easy task!
Here are some final vacation photos. Thanks so much for allowing me to share my vacation with you.

Boiler Bay, Oregon- at low tide, you can see the remains of an old steam ship boiler.

Cape Arago Lighthouse, near Coos Bay, Oregon.

Devil's Punch Bowl State Park, near Newport, Oregon.

Heceta Head Lighthouse, near Florence, Oregon.

A beautiful flower in the green house at Shore Acres State Park, near Coos Bay, Oregon. Anyone want to help with identifying it?

I will see you on Wednesday with a fun new giveaway! Hint....it involves a Cricut cartridge and goodies. Thanks again for all your support! Starting Friday, I will be back to posting as usual and I have some fun new projects planned. I so missed you all!

Impress Stamps and More

I saved my favorite craft store until today! If you love stamps, then you must visit Impressions. It is an amazing stamp store that manufactures their own line of rubber stamps. They have three stores, one in Bellevue, Seattle and Tukwila. I was lucky to visit the Tukwila store and I so did not want to leave. Too much fun! Be sure to visit their website and check out their Impressive Idea section.

Kelley, Shannel and Marianne were so nice and extremely helpful. What a great trio! Thanks again for making my visit special!

Mount Rainier Trip

We had a great day with my sister Diane, her husband John, and my nieces Mandy and Ari exploring Mount Rainier National Park.  Ari spotted these adorable baby foxes and my husband took over 100 photos. We had a wonderful time with our family.  For this vacation, I decided not to pack any crafting supplies. Big mistake, I am so missing crafting and my Cricuts.  Yikes!

Mount Rainier from about 30 miles away. It is the tallest mountain in the Cascade Range at 14,411 feet (4,392 m).

A pair of fox kits that were out of their den while mom was away. They look big in the photo, but are actually smaller than a house cat. The den was under a snow bank right beside the road and they seemed to be enjoying the warm sun. They posed for quite a few pictures before disappearing into the den when tourists finally got too close.

Watching tourists is boring!

I can 't wait to share my next stop with you, it is my favorite store ever!

Fab Five Friday!

Welcome to Fab Five Friday! For those of you that are new to this blog, every Friday during the summer, will be showcasing five blogs, websites or posts that I think you will enjoy. This week I am a little behind on my posts. A couple of our campgrounds have unreliable Internet service so thanks for being patient! Here are my weekly picks:

These photos are from the Scrapbook Nook in Kent Washington. The store is huge and a must see if you are anywhere close to Kent. My sister Diane took me for a fun visit! I bought lots!

I love using buttons on my cards so, of course, I fell in love with this button necklace made by Jennifer McGuire. Hint…it involves stamping!

Alma, from Alma’s Pink Life did a fun comparison using the Imagine and the Expression to cut Mickey Mouse. Her comparison is a must read. I have so wanted to try this and so happy that she did. Be sure to check it out!

Crafting with Class is a fun blog that I think you will enjoy. Karli’s cards are amazing and her cupcake project is so cute!

I just discovered Bits and Pieces and am in love with her blog. For scrapbook inspiration and to see beautifully designed cards, please drop in.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are having a fun filled Friday!

Paper Muse

Well we finally made it to Orting, Washington and settled in to our RV park near Eatonville. Thank goodness we have a travel trailer so there is room for all our purchases. I couldn’t wait to sample the local craft stores, so my sister Diane took me on a tour of a few local craft stores.

The first craft store she took me to was a beautiful store in downtown Sumner, Washington called Paper Muse. The owner Camian Cadle, has done an incredible job with her displays and merchandising. I was particularly impressed with her display of Tim Holtz’s merchandise and her amazing glitters. I just had to buy some. She also had lots of beautiful twines is several different colors. Her store is an amazing experience and if you are lucky enough to be in the area, is a must-see!

And if you aren't in to paper crafting, just seeing her beautiful pet birds is worth the trip!

Happy Fourth of July!

Hello from the road and Happy Fourth of July! Many thanks to Betsy, Grace and Susan for house sitting and watching our cats Izzy and Jackson while we are on vacation.

We have been working our way from Helena to the Seattle area over the last few days and recently spent some time in Spokane, Washington. While we were there, I managed to visit the local Hobby Lobby and was duly impressed. The store is huge and has an incredible assortment of crafting supplies!

While we were there, we also took time to do some sight-seeing. The view from the deck at Anthony’s restaurant in Spokane is amazing and the steamed mussels are to die for!

We also visited the old Steam Plant in Spokane that is now a beautiful restaurant.
Love the architecture!

I am behind on my posts as the Internet connection was not working. Hope you are having a wonderful day with family and friends!

That’s all for now. Please stay tuned for my next dispatch from the road as we visit some amazing scrapbook stores!
