Mod Podge Techniques….New Ideas to Try, Including Glitter Glue that Will Not Flake Off

I use a lot of Mod Podge in my projects but decided to try using it in a different way. I had two large bottles just setting on my shelf looking very lonely so I tried a couple of new techniques. I just finished reading Paper Crafts Cool Tools magazine and thought I would try out a couple of their ideas for making stains out of Mod Podge and guess what? They worked perfectly.

When working with Mod Podge, I also discovered a quick and easy way to make glitter glue that will not flake off. In the past, I used a different product for making my glue, but Mod Podge worked perfectly.

For more details, please watch the following video! I would love to hear about your ideas for Mod Podge!

Thanks for visiting! And stay tuned for a fun Fab Five Friday!

You are so clever, Linda! I will definitely have to try some of these techniques. I have Mod Podge and lots of PTI reinkers!

Okay, the old,old bottle of Modge Podge is coming out of the closet. I love the glitter glue idea and have lots of acrylic paint so this goes on my list of to-dos.

Love the look of that glitter glue! Looks like you get such great coverage! I'm guessing that if you only had clear ro silver/gold glitter, you could color the Mod Podge with a reinker or paint first, and then add glitter, too.
Thanks for sharing!!

I love Mod Podge and know this will be fun, fun, fun! You mentioned how easy it is to clean the paint pallet; I love letting a think coat of the medium (glaze, paint, or anything with Mod Podge) dry and then peel it out of the tray. It's very pretty and makes fun accents for cards and mixed media.

Thanks for sharing this video! I always keep Mod Podge, but usually just use it as a sealer. Now I have lots more things to use it for.

Thanks you ever so much for sharing these tips. I too love glitter but it always seems to rub off alittle even days after! ModPdge always takes me back to the '70's when we Modpodged everything in site...even the cat was hiding so as not get 'Podged. lol
I am now a subbie of yours and thrilled. I will put your website badge on my blog (still in process) and do a shout out for you too!
Thanks again!

Linda you always supply the best tips. I love the glitter glue tip since I recently did a project that required a lot of glitter and struggled with every glitter glue on the market. I finally gave up and found that Michael's carries a glitter embossing powder that actually gave me fabulous results once it was heat embossed. It was by recollections and they have a wide range of beautiful colors. Sure made my project flow much easier and it did not flake off and gave a really even coverage.
