Happy Halloween Lanterns
Two weeks ago I made a fun project for a Martha Stewart contest that used the Midnight Jamboree Cutting set from SVG Cuts. I originally did not use the lantern from that kit and replaced it with a Martha Stewart lantern template. I really like her template, but also adore the lantern that was part of the original SVG kit. So here is the lantern that came with the SVG Cuts kit.
I also wanted a 3-dimensional look so I did not glue down the bats. I used green vellum which my Cameo cut beautifully. Can you believe how well the Cameo cut the intricate areas? It continues to amaze me!
This is my original project.
I used the Martha Stewart template for this lantern. I so enjoy having options!

Meet Mila!
As you may know, we went through a difficult time recently when we lost my crafting buddy Izzy from epilepsy. We were determined to wait awhile before getting another cat, but encouragement from my sister, niece and sad looks from our remaining cat Jackson convinced us to start looking for another kitten. Jackson looked lost without Izzy. As luck would have it, our local animal shelter had a cute little black and white furball that seemed to be saying, "take me home". It was love at first sight for both my husband and myself.
Mila was given a clean bill of health by our vet and we took her home. We isolated her in another room to give Jackson time to get used to her and prepare the house for a new kitten. The first few days that we let them out together were tense as Jackson was curious and hissed at her.
A couple more days and they became even better friends.
Play time!
I caught it! Now what?
Hugs for everyone!
Thanks again for all your kind words, emails and comments regarding Izzy. They meant so much to us and helped ease the pain.

Fab Five Friday….Halloween Style
Welcome to Fab Five Friday. For those of you that are new to this blog, every Friday I showcase five blogs, websites or posts that I think you will enjoy. Today I thought it would be fun to have an all Halloween Fab Five.
I love this fall pumpkin by Two Paper Divas and I plan on making it for Thanksgiving, but it is also perfect for Halloween. I am so excited that I found another reason to make Halloween rosettes! Super clever and oh so easy!!
Speaking of pumpkins….who says they have to be orange? Landee from Landee See, Landee Do made this amazing display using non-traditional Halloween colors and I love it! She even has a detailed tutorial for you!
I can’t wait to carve our traditional pumpkin and I am thinking about using one of these amazing templates designed by Martha Stewart. Of course my favorite is the fierce feline one. Wish me luck!
Lookie What I Did is a must see blog. Missy used dried beans to decorate for Halloween. Yes, I said dried beans. She even shows you how to dye them orange. Clever post and economical too! I love her Halloween hutch and I am going to give it a try!
I can’t believe it took me so long to discover Smitten Kitchen but I am so glad I did. To see her latest pumpkin recipe click here. For tons more pumpkin and winter squash recipes, click here. You are going to love Deb’s blog.
Have a fun Fab Five Friday and please stop back on Sunday for Simply Organized Sunday (SOS).

Martha Stewart Meets the Cameo!
I was among a fortunate group of bloggers that was contacted by Martha Stewart’s office to participate in Michael’s Craft Month campaign with Martha Stewart’s Crafts! After doing a happy dance around my craft room, I decided to combine Martha’s amazing papers and stickers with my Silhouette Cameo to make some adorable Halloween decorations. I also used her quick and easy to use lantern template. A special thanks to Martha Stewart’s office for sending me all the wonderful supplies and tools.
Martha Stewart’s Carnival Paper Pad made this project so easy. Having beautiful coordinating paper in one pad saves a great deal of time and it cuts flawlessly with my Cameo!
I used the Midnight Jamboree cutting files from SVG cuts with my Silhouette Cameo to cut my projects with the exception of the lantern. Martha’s papers cut like butter when using the Silhouette Cameo. I set the speed to 2, the pressure to 33 and my blade to 4. Her double-sided gorgeous paper cut perfect every time and I do mean every time. Assembly instructions for the SVG files are available by clicking here.
This Halloween treat bag was made using Martha’s papers, and her Scoring Board and paper punch to make the rosettes. Click here if you would like to see a video I made on how to make Halloween rosettes. The center of the rosette is from the Martha Stewart Crafts-Halloween Collection- Self-adhesive border pad. I just trimmed the image to fit.
I love her lantern tool and have had mine for a while. To see a video I made on how to make this amazing lantern, click here. Once again I used Martha’s amazing paper including her vellum paper and a cutting file for the rosette designed by Lori Whitlock. The button and ribbons were from my stash. You can use the lantern template for any season! And don’t forget to add a flameless candle to light up your holiday.
This may be my favorite project of all. Martha’s papers tied everything together perfectly. Thanks to her amazing products and tools, I was able to complete this project in record time. The solid colored papers and thin black ribbon are from my stash.
Thanks for visiting and a special thanks to Martha Stewart’s office for sending me all the wonderful materials to complete this project! Also, don’t forget to visit her new craft board on Pinterest and check out her wonderful products available at Michaels.

Easiest Christmas Tags Ever!
Last week I posted a video on how to make fancy paper rosettes…Halloween Style. So of course I had to make some for Christmas.
These were the easiest and quickest tags ever.
I used a Lori Whitlock file for the green and striped tags. I removed the score lines and scored by hand. I used punches for both the scallop and inside circle. I wanted these to be used as Christmas tags so I created the text and dashed lines using Word. I wish my faux stitching looked this good! I plan to attach them to Christmas packages with foam dots, however you could change the paper and use these for any occasion.
For this tag, I used a Martha Stewart punch and joined two 12 inch strips together. I think this one is my favorite.
For more information on how to make these rosettes, please click here. I plan to make more using wrapping paper so I have matching gift wrap and tags. For these, I used text weight card stock.
Thanks for visiting and please stop back on Wednesday for a fun new product review and more……

I love a great makeover don’t you?
I recently discovered Mom Endeavors and immediately fell in love with this amazing makeover. I thought her craft room looked good in the before photos, but wait until you see the after shots.
She used an over- the- door shoe organizer to store some of her supplies. Be sure to click here for tons more photos and ideas.
Her blog is packed with amazing ideas, including how to make a veggie Jack O’ Lantern made out of carrots, olives and broccoli. The kids will love eating these vegies!
Are you ready for a unique storage idea? Click here to create a sliding storage system on the garage ceiling. Now you may not want to use this idea for craft supplies, but it would be great to store other items to make more room for your craft supplies. What a great way to store holiday items, camping gear etc.. And it cost less than $100.00. Yahoo! Wonder what my husband has planned for tomorrow? Hmmm.
Thanks for visiting and have a wonderful weekend.

Fab Five Friday
Welcome to Fab Five Friday! For those of you that are new to this blog, every Friday I showcase five blogs, websites or posts that I think you will enjoy.
I am so excited to announce the newest Silhouette machine, the Portrait. I jumped for joy when I received the email announcing their newest machine. As you know, I love my Cameo and had to share this information with all of you!
Here is the info directly from Silhouette. The Portrait is a smaller, lighter version of the popular Silhouette CAMEO®. But, while it is smaller in size, the Portrait is feature-rich.
The Silhouette Portrait™ has the same motor and cutting mechanism as the CAMEO, yet the entire unit weighs only 3.5 pounds. The Portrait can cut all the same types of materials that the CAMEO can (including all Silhouette branded materials) and includes a cutting mat that will accept Letter (8.5 in x 11 in) and A4 sized sheet goods. Like the CAMEO, the Portrait has an optical scanner so it can be used with a home printer to create print & cut projects. Of course, the Portrait also includes our powerful Silhouette Studio® software—allowing users to create their own designs and cut the fonts already installed on their computers.
Perhaps the most appealing feature of the new Silhouette Portrait™ is the low cost. With an MSRP of just $199.99, the Portrait will appeal to individuals who want a quality electronic cutting tool at an amazing price.
Now for more good news. I was among a fortunate group of bloggers that was sent a huge box of Martha Stewart goodies to work with and I will be posting some of my projects in the very near future, so please stay tuned. In the meantime, I am proud to announce that Martha Stewart has launched a new craft board on Pinterest and you are going to love it. She has lots planned for this new board so be sure to check it out. In the future you might even see one of my projects there. Yahoo!!
If you love beautiful cards check out Lucy’s Cards. Her cards are amazing! I love her Halloween ones.
I am always looking for new ways to make ornaments and jumped for joy when I found the Ornament Girl’s blog. I promise you will leave inspired. I love the Halloween ornament!

Tips and Techniques for Making Fancy Paper Rosettes…Halloween Style!
I love making rosettes and just had to make some fancy ones for Halloween. This is my third video on rosettes, my first video was on how to make basic rosettes, and my second was on how to make metallic looking rosettes out of duct tape. Obviously I can’t get enough of rosettes.
In this video I demonstrate a couple of tricks that I have learned along the way and show you some decorative Halloween rosettes. I also demonstrate how to use some of the new silhouette rosette cutting files by Lori Whitlock.
A special thanks to Deeyll for her great idea on how to make it even easier to make rosettes. Yahoo!
Thanks for visiting and stay tuned for a fun Fab Five Friday!

Happy Halloween!
Halloween is one of my favorite holidays so I thought I would share one of my all-time favorite Halloween posts.
A special thanks to Martha Stewart for this great idea! My technique is a little different than hers and I just had to use the Cricut to make mine. I used the Cricut for the stem and leaves, but you could use any cutting files or hand cut the stem and leaves. The strips are cut using a paper cutter, no cutting machine needed.
This is the small pumpkin and it is super easy to make. Directions for three different sizes are included on my video. These pumpkins would be perfect for Halloween and/or Thanksgiving.
Thanks for visiting and have a hauntingly happy Monday!
