Happy Halloween Lanterns

Two weeks ago I made a fun project for a Martha Stewart contest that used the Midnight Jamboree Cutting set from SVG Cuts. I originally did not use the lantern from that kit and replaced it with a Martha Stewart lantern template. I really like her template, but also adore the lantern that was part of the original SVG kit. So here is the lantern that came with the SVG Cuts kit.

I decided not to use a handle so I eliminated the holes, but the original files are designed with holes for wire or ribbon. It is illuminated with a flameless tea light.

I also wanted a 3-dimensional look so I did not glue down the bats. I used green vellum which my Cameo cut beautifully. Can you believe how well the Cameo cut the intricate areas? It continues to amaze me!
