Jackson and Mila

As you may know, we went through a difficult time in September when we lost my crafting buddy Izzy from epilepsy. We were determined to wait awhile before getting another cat, but encouragement from my sister, niece, and sad looks from our remaining cat Jackson convinced us to start looking for another kitten. Jackson looked lost without Izzy. As luck would have it, our local animal shelter had a cute little black and white furball that seemed to be saying, "take me home". It was love at first sight for both my husband and myself.

I posted several photos on my blog of Mila and Jackson in October and decided to use some of those photos for a Photoshop class. This page combined several lessons from the Photoshop Friday series including how to make my own paper using a shape, in this case a diamond. I still have so much to learn!

I am pleased to report that Mila and Jackson are now closer than ever! They sleep together, play together and wash each other. And create havoc in my craft room which I love! I am so grateful to have them both.

Have a great day and be sure to stop back for Fab Five Friday.

First of all, your kitties are so cute! Second, your page is gorgeous! I love the colors and elements you used, and the diamond pattern you designed is beautiful!

Love your layout! I can relate to your story of your kitties-the two I adopted after I lost my cat of 15 years are the terrors of the house. They make up for all the other pets I have had over the years, especially in my craft room where one is usually sitting on my desk as I am working.

Linda, your layout is beautiful and l love your kitty! She could be related to our Quincy Cat. You sure captured her beautiful spirit in each of the photos. You are a fast learner. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your beautiful layouts and Mila. xxx-Debbie

If your digital scrapbooking knowledge is lacking, it certainly doesn't show. This is a beautiful and lighthearted layout! I'm glad that your craft room and heart have welcomed a new addition; and that she and Jackson have become fast friends!

Well I am very tardy in welcoming your new Mila to your family but congratulations to you!We are very lucky to have a huge rescue family ourselves, eleven in all, but they all get along and only Mandy, who is 16 yrs old, we call her Crabby Gramma, despises everyone except me, and they all allow her a very wide berth! Amazing how they all know she is the grande dame of the house!Enjoy your beautiful babies, and many blessing in 2013!
