More Photos from Glacier National Park

We had an amazing time in Glacier National Park and Bill took tons of wonderful photos that I could not wait to share. Today is the last of the photos for this trip! The favorite part of the trip for me was watching the bear take a dip in the river. Amazing!

Now here's Bill!

Thanks Linda! The flowers in the park were definitely past their prime, but I managed to find a few bog gentian flowers  that were showing good colors.

Fireweed were blooming at Big Bend turn-out. Mount Oberlin is in the background.

One of the prettiest views is Sunrift Gorge. It is a small stream that cuts straight through the rock. Hikers sometimes walk in the stream as a shortcut to get to the backcountry in the distance.

As we returned to our campsite at Many Glacier campground, we came upon a bear jam. (A bear jam is when bunches of tourists abandon their cars to get a glimpse of a bear).

This grizzly bear had been feasting on berries and was ready to go for a swim. "You coming?"

"C'mon in, the water's fine!"

The bear soaked in the water for about 10 minutes and had a good scratch or two before climbing up the bank and resuming it's feast of berries.

Thanks for taking the time to look at my photos and I hope you are having a fun summer.

Thank you for sharing you trip and photos. Bill, would you mind if I used your swimming bear photo on a card for a friend? I think it would be a fun way to say, "Let's get together!"

Wow Bill, these photo's are amazing!! Love the bear jam! How fun and cut was that bear?!! We had a bear come walking out of our corn field last summer! He came down from Gettysburg. It's not often you find a bear down in the farm lands. lol He just went along on his merry way! We had a good time following him around to all our neighbor's yards. Then he went down into our little woods where our pond is. Nature at it's best! Would love to see the park you are in and maybe on one day! Thanks for sharing these beautiful and stunning photos!!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing your Glacier pics! I spent many vacations with my family in the early 60's up there, usually staying at East Glacier, but traveling through the entire park. Then in 1972, worked up the road from Many at Swiftcurrent for a summer. What a great way to spend a summer. Thanks again...your pics are beautiful!

Billiejo, please feel free to use the photo on a card! Since Bill sells some of his photos he just asks that you not distribute them commercially. Thanks!
