I used Samantha’s Traditions Collection to make this adorable pencil vase that would be perfect for a beginning of the year teacher’s gift. Samantha’s Traditions Collection features a page of tags that are gorgeous. I used the sticker from her collection and the background paper I used for this photo is also from her collection!

Two months ago, I saw this cute idea on Honeybear Lane and just had to give it a try! Instead of using a glass vase, I used the plastic tube that my Silhouette vinyl comes in. I love using Silhouette’s vinyl so I had a lot these tubes! Using a kitchen shears, I removed the top inch or so of the plastic tube to make it the same height as my pencils. It will not hold water, but works perfectly to hold silk flowers or office supplies. I used 28 pencils held in place with rubber bands at the top and bottom of the vase. The bands were concealed with ribbon and a sticker. This adorable gift only took 15 minutes to make!

Super cute idea. I had seen it before but using a glass vase or a water bottle. But the silhouette tubing is a great way of recycling. TFS. ana

Cute back to school project. Like the recycle tube idea also!

Great idea, and very green of you to reuse your tubing. We have lots of pencils, I only wish I had seen it when my son was younger because there is no way he brings something like this to school now that he is a "middle schooler" lol
Hugs, antonella :-)
