Special Guest Post - Glacier National Park

Hello all. We just got back from 4 days in Glacier National Park. My husband Bill was busy shooting photos and they turned out fantastic so I asked him to share a few with you.

Thanks Linda! I hope your readers enjoy them.

We just got back from staying at Many Glacier Campground. It is in the northeast corner of the park and which featured temperatures in the 60's and 70's which was a welcome relief from the 90 degree weather back home.

One of the first spectacular views you see when entering the park from the east entrance is Wild Goose Island on Saint Mary Lake.  We happened to be there on one of the few calm days and were treated to this beautiful reflection.

Ground squirrels run around everywhere on Logan Pass. This little guy was looking for his friends and posing for pictures near the board walk.

Near the top of Logan Pass, this Mountain Goat was taking a break in a cool gravel hole that it scooped out with its hooves.

One of the amazing thing about Glacier National Park is the many colors of streams and lakes. This is a slow, deep pool in McDonald creek that shows those colors.

The beaches at Lake McDonald are covered with multicolored stones that were deposited by glaciers. It is a stone collectors dream, but you can't take any with you as is true of any national park. You can rent kayaks and canoes at the dock and paddle around.

We had a great time, beautiful weather and can't wait to go back!

Your pictures are exquisite Bill!! You are quite the photographer! I love the scenery and the animals. We live by Gettysburg Battlefield and one time I was going to take a piece of moss and my husband slapped it out of my hands explaining why I couldn't take it. Of course I didn't think about if everyone took something from there! lol I was young and naive but now I know and laughed when you said you couldn't take anything from any of the state parks. Love when you show your photos on Linda's blog!!

Thanks Bill for the fabulous photos of one of our favorite places. We were just there a few weeks ago and always love traveling up Going to the Sun Highway right after it is opened in the Spring.
