This photo shows several trends that began last year and have carried forward. The chevron trend, the mustache trend and the black and white trend. The black and white trend really never went away!

Click here to visit the Silhouette Blog to find out more about these adorable images.

Speaking of chevron trends, check out this DIY trend on how to use stencils to paint chevrons on steps. Love it. This trend also started last year but is still going strong.

If you are a trend watcher, be sure you visit Scrapbook Update trends section. This blog is a must read!

Thanks to Scrapbook Update, we are all watching one of the newest trends, feathers. Click here to see the last installment of their series Trending: Feathers.

A favorite hot trend of mine began last year. I am now addicted to flair buttons and you will be too after you visit these Pinterest boards. Love them!

Another current trend is ombre. Alexandra from Art Scrap and More was way ahead of the trend curve when she posted this amazing tutorial on how to make ombre cards using watercolors and heat embossing. They are truly stunning! I used the glitter sketch pen and one of the 10 free designs that came with the set to sketch the sentiment. I added text and was done. I am so going to use these pens for everything including sentiments, envelopes, backgrounds and more!! You are going to love the metallic pens.

First I sketched this adorable bow image that was also included in the kit and then I cut out the image using my machine. This kit is so amazing! Make it in Minutes Monday!

Welcome to another Make it in Minutes Monday. This card actually took only 10 minutes to make and is perfect for a man or a woman! It reminds me of subway art.

I used Samantha Walker’s Happy Birthday file available at the Silhouette On-line store. I love how easy this card was to make! I cut an extra panel, backed the front and was done in record time. In fact, this was the quickest make it in minutes card so far.

Please stop back tomorrow to see how I finished the inside and the back of this card. Hint…it involves a new kit and a gigantic giveaway that you will not want to miss!

Making Your Own Smash Book Using the New Arc Disc System

In today’s video, I demo the new Arc Desktop Punch System from Staples. I could not wait to share the quick book I made that can be used as a Smash Book.

You are going to love how easy it is to use the Arc Punch. For those of you that saw my Martha Stewart Video on her Discbound system it is a very similar system except you can buy the punch and discs to make your own albums and smash books. Click here to view that video.

The good news is that the punch only costs $39.99 and is available at Staples. Rollabind invented this system and that is great news for us since all their beautiful discs will work with this punch.

Visit Rollabind.com to see all the sizes and colors of discs. I am so addicted to this system and can’t wait to order the metallic discs.

Thanks for visiting and have a great day!

Make it in Minutes Monday!

Welcome to Make it in Minutes Monday… the mini series. I thought it would be fun to feature quick and easy cards that take less than 10 minutes to make, but look like you spent more time making them. Let’s start with this quick and easy card.

This card was so easy to make and you can use your scraps to do it. I was inspired by a Silhouette card, however mine is a little different. My card base measures 4 x 5¼ inches. I punched 20 one inch circles and cut off some of the edges to make it look less formal.

I hand cut the tag and shadow and added a sentiment using Word. I used Typenoksidi font that you can download here for free. I love the trendy font!

This card is perfect for both men and women and all you need is a circle punch! Yahoo!

Thanks for visiting and be sure to stop back Wednesday for a new product video and project. You are going to love this product!

Two Hobbies Unite… Mine and His!

My husband, in addition to being a wonderful photographer is also good at brewing microbrews, so I could not resist combining his love of beer making with my love of crafting.

I discovered these free labels on-line and just had to make them. I made more labels that are specific to the type of beer brewed and will share in another post. My next task was to find beer tasting glasses so we could have a beer tasting party.

I searched everywhere for tasting glasses with no luck. Finally a very clever Pier One sales associate suggested that I use votive glasses that were only $1.00 each. I now have quite a few of them to accommodate lots of tastings.

Next, I needed a way to mark the beers. I used my label set from Spellbinders to cut labels out of Martha Stewart removable labels. The great thing about these labels is that you can remove them and use them again and again. Yahoo!! Dry erase markers work great to write on the labels and your guests can have fun decorating their glasses. I used a different color for each style of beer.

The last task was to find beer trays which I did at Pier One. I also bought a large tray that accommodates 12 tasting glasses.

In addition, I am going to design and print beer tasting place-mats. This would have been the most economically way to go, but I thought of it after I purchased the trays. Duh! The good news is that the trays are also perfect for appetizers.

Fab Five Friday

Welcome to Fab Five Friday. For those of you that are new to this blog, every Friday I showcase five blogs, websites or posts that I think you will enjoy.

Before we get started, make sure you click here to enter my giveaway and to learn more about the huge Silhouette sale. I am giving away a Silhouette Portrait cutting machine. That’s right one of my lucky subscribers or followers will win their very own cutting machine. So don’t forget to enter!

Speaking of Silhouette giveaways, I thought it would be fun to talk about a few of my favorite Silhouette links. If you own a Silhouette cutting machine, you may be familiar with some of these links. If you are thinking about purchasing a Silhouette cutting machine and want to learn more, these links will provide you with more information.

For all things Silhouette, click here to visit Silhouette’s home page. You can also visit their amazing blog, their YouTube Channel, and their Facebook page and more. Speaking of more, click here to view their Pinterest page. I am so proud that my motivational advent calendar is pinned on their advent calendar Pinterest board. Yahoo!

To try out Silhouette’s free software, click here. You can play with the software but you will need to buy a machine if you want to cut the images. Trust me, you will love their products. I played with the software for about three weeks before deciding to buy my Cameo! Also check out their on-line store. Remember every Tuesday you can download a free file! I never miss a Tuesday file!

The first thing I did after buying my Cameo was to join this amazing Silhouette Plus message board. Everyone on this board is so helpful and I learned so much from all of them. They helped me with my questions and guided me to the most helpful posts. This is also a good place to visit if you are thinking about buying a machine. In fact, I visited this board before I brought my Cameo. Registration is simple, fast and free.

If you are a new Silhouette owner or want to learn more about the Silhouette, you can take a class from Kerri Bradford. I am pleased to say that I took all of her classes and highly recommend each and every one of them. Kerri is an excellent instructor and I learned tons!

I own the Silhouette Studio Designer Edition Software and I love it. It is on sale for $24.99 through March 8th.
