Butterfly Shadow Box

I saw this shadow box (#44808) when I was surfing the Silhouette on-line store and knew that I had to make it.

I discovered a couple of things along the way that I want to share with you. The box is easy to put together, but keep in mind the labels on the Silhouette file are reversed. Layer 2 should be layer 3. I did not discover that until I made mine, so my shadow box looks a little different from the Silhouette photo.

Now for the great news! Marji converted the Butterfly Shadow Box to an SVG file for those of you that do not have a Silhouette machine and has it available for purchase at 3dcuts.com.  Click here for the tutorial!

Gluing the eyes and the tail pieces were challenging. I tried glue dots but they did not hold. I also tried Zip Dry Glue and Scotch Quick-Dry adhesive my two favorite glues with no luck. Finally, my good friend Donna reminded me that Glossy Accents is the best glue ever! And it worked! Yahoo!
