Cutting Anna Griffin Dies with Sizzix BIGkick

I recently purchased a Sizzix BIGkick and I love it even more than my Anna Griffin Cuttlebug! Several months ago I filmed a video using the Cuttlebug and the cuts turned out fine. However, I have to admit that using the Sizzix BIGkick is so much easier. I would love to hear from all of you as to what machine you prefer. In the meantime, please enjoy the video!

Please keep in mind I am a BIGkick newbie and would love to hear any suggestions that you all might have!

Have a great day and thanks so much for watching!

Hi lInda, I had the cuttle bug and let a friend of mine have it when i purchased the teal color big shot. I love it. Much better for me since I have the long dies and cutting them with the cuttlebug was alot more difficult. Enjoy your new machine. Ana

Great job on the video. You are always so thorough! Not directly related to the Big Kick, but there is a video on Youtube showing the use of dryer sheets with intricate dies. The process eliminates the need to poke each piece out.

Big shot all the way! Their customer service is A-1, just can't be beat! I've had my machine since 2006 and just replaced the bearings. Wonderful that it can be repaired instead of replaced!

Linda,
If you place your left hand on top of the Big Kick/Shot handle,
you'll find it even easier to use.

My Big Shot is my work horse in my studio.

Using the original big shot for probably 10 years.... using the long platform with the smaller plates seems to keep the smaller plates from warping as much as they do with the smaller thickest plate....(base) I had the tim Holtz Vagabond but it broke, but the regular die machine keeps on ticking....the magnetic platform has its pros an cons, small items seem to adhere anywhere they please so I still like tape for small dies to hold in place...Jean Heming

I love my Cuttlebug for the simple fact that it folds up and doesn't take up a lot of space, BUT....I love the Big Shot/BIGkick because it seems to cut better or have better pressure that equals a better cut. I would like to own one sometime, just have to find space for it in my room. lol Hugs, Brenda

I love my BigKick. Before I bought it I watched countless videos on Cuttlebug vs BigKick, and I know I made the right choice. I also have the larger base (like you), but I've only had to use it with a 12 border embossing folder.
One thing I will make you aware of, be mindful of the screw & washer inside the handle; mine has fallen out~ but fortunetly, quickly found!

Hi Linda: I use my Big Shot with the Anna Griffin dies with fabulous results. It is easier to use standing up and holding the handle at the top. Thank you for the video. Enjoy your Big Kick.

I prefer my Sizzix BigShot too! I have much better luck with it. I like the bigger base for less effort exerted to hold it still. You are the 4th or 5th person to talk about that tool in one tool. I guess I have to give up and order that now! Everyone says they love it. Thanks for the video.
