Mini Vacation

My husband Bill attended  a conference and I went along and made a mini-vacation out of it. I'll let Bill take it from here.

I finished my conference in Billings, Montana, late in the afternoon and took a quick tour of the new Scheels Sporting Goods store.

When you first walk in the door, there are three columns that are salt water aquariums.

The building is huge and somehow, they managed to fit a Ferris wheel inside.

There is also a mini bowling alley upstairs.

On the second floor, there is a larger diorama with north American animals on display.

An entire float plane seems to be landing in the camping goods area.

After a brief shopping trip we drove to Red Lodge, Montana. We just made it to Red Lodge with enough sunlight for a few photos.

Linda was lucky enough to get us in to the Beartooth Lodge. it is a beautiful resort on the edge of Rock Creek.

In front of the lodge, they have a catch and release trout pond.

The light was beautiful at sunset and all these photos were taken within 20 steps from the edge of the lodge.

We drove a few back roads on the way home and this was our last view of the Beartooth mountain range. The highest peak on the right is Granite Peak, which is 12,800 feet tall.

Thanks for looking and Linda will be back soon with another awesome project.

Beautiful pictures, Linda! Love that giant aquarium. Are the customers allowed to ride on the Ferris wheel or use the bowling lane or it is just for show?

I have never been to Montana, but I plan to visit sometime... it is so beautiful!!
