Modified Bullet Journal Using the Arc System - Part One

In today’s video, I share my modified version of a bullet journal. Thanks to my sister Di, I started my version of a bullet journal ten days ago and I am so excited that I had to share mine with you. In part two, I will discuss the supplies I used etc.

The bullet journal was developed three years ago by Ryder Carroll, a digital product designer living in Brooklyn, NY. It is a combination of a planner, to-do list, sketchbook and a diary or project log. You can make your bullet journal as simple or as artistic as you desire. If you like writing with pen and paper, drawing, doodling, journaling and planning, this system might be perfect for you. I have tried numerous systems and this one is my favorite by far. I can include all my projects/ideas and schedules into one book with a single index. My life just got easier!!

If you are interested in doing a bullet journal, I recommend you watch Ryder Carroll’s video below before you get started.

There are also tons of videos on YouTube, pins on Pinterest and lots of great photos on Instagram. Also check out Boho Berry’s blog and her YouTube channel. She has been a huge inspiration to me and is an incredible artist. She has taken the bullet journal to a whole new level. Wow!

You can use any notebook as a bullet journal. Many people use a Moleskine which is a bound notebook. I want the flexibility to add items or modify my pages; therefore, I decided to go with the Arc system. Most bullet journals are written using only pen and paper. I am so not an artist, so I relied on stamps, stickers and printables to help me. My goal is to work on my doodling and writing skills.

Hope you enjoy my video.

This is Ryder Carroll’s video, a great place to start.

This is Boho Berry's first video, so be sure to check out her channel to see more recent videos.

Sorry for the long post and video, I was just so excited to share this with all of you! Stay tuned for part two. I hope to have it filmed in the next two weeks. In the meantime, have fun with your bullet journal.

I've come to the same conclusion. I needed something that would expand. I also don't want to use my efforts to make calendars, etc. But I do like inserting art, etc. So I'm using a Happy Planner.

What a great video! I love the habit trackers. I'm going to have to find a printable for that.

I had never heard of this type of journaling ...what I learned some years ago while working (now retired) is that you are more apt to reach goals when writing them down and tracking. This is a great system for any kind of tracking you'd like to do. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. Your videos are wonderful!
