House Shaped Box Card

I love box cards and thought this would be perfect for a friend who just purchased a new home.

For this card, I used the A2 House Shaped Box Card (#184828) that I purchased from the Silhouette on-line store. I used the Cat Silhouette file (#31576) for the black cats. I just flipped the design for the second cat. We have two black cats so I just had to add them.

For the grass I used the Grass and Border file (#56521). Lastly, I decided to add a pot so I purchased the Potted House Plants (#25800) file. The paper is from my stash.

Thanks for stopping by and have a marvelous Monday!

Anna Griffin Fantastic Flips Card Cricut Cartridge: Part Two

Last month, I posted a card that I made using Anna Griffin’s Fantastic Flips Card Cricut Cartridge from HSN and I could not wait to make another card.

For this card, I used an open window on the front, like the cards included in Anna’s Fantastic Flips Card Making Kit and Dies kit. This cartridge is so versatile and I really like it. In fact, I like it better than the cutting dies that were included with Anna’s card kit. I used glitter paper and double-sided paper from my stash.

I love the look of a closed front window. Click here to see original post.

This card is also made using Anna’s card making kit. And it too has an open front window.

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Boyce Thompson Arboretum State Park Photos

My husband Bill was gone for a few days last week, visiting his dad in Apache Junction, Arizona. They visited the Boyce Thompson Arboretum State Park and I asked him to share a few photos.

Bill here. If you happen to get down to Superior, Arizona, you should definitely visit the Boyce Thompson Arboretum State Park. It's about 60 miles east of Phoenix. The arboretum is  well laid out and includes all local cacti and many others from north and South America and Australia too.

The cacti grow profusely in this lush desert area.

An inviting bench in the children's garden.

The lichen add even more color to the cactus.

I would say those are Agave and barrel cactus, along with a Palo Verde tree, but there are so many different types of plants in the arboretum, I would most surely be wrong.

The walking trail through the park leads you to Ayer Lake. It's a great place to take a rest too.

Very few cacti were blooming as it is still a little too early, but this ocotillo was showing blooms on its tips.

A picturesque suspension bridge over Queen Creek.

Some amazing plants on the lower part of the trail.

A nice arrangement near the end of the trail.

These beautiful flowers were in full bloom. Thanks for viewing my photos and be sure to come back Wednesday for a new post from Linda.
