A few weeks ago, Jennifer McGuire made several cards using the June Hero Arts of the month kit and I fell in love with her cards and the kit. I rushed to order, but they were sold out. I was determined to make a similar card using my Silhouette Cameo.
I designed the sun to look like the Hero Art die. I used Silhouette Studio to draw a 3.278 circle using the shape tool and added clouds from the pop-up card bicycle file (#142226 ) that I purchased from the Silhouette on-line store. I reshaped the clouds, placed them on the circle and used the subtract tool. Then I used my new distress oxide inks to do a blend that looked like a sunset. I used Worn Lipstick, Spiced Marmalade and Fossilized Amber. Once my ink dried, I cut the paper using the new sun and cloud file that I described above. I love how easy it is to blend the distress oxide inks.
Since I did not have the giraffe stamps, I used the Giraffe Pose file (#62791 ) that I also purchased from the Silhouette on-line store. I flipped the giraffes and resized them. The large giraffe is 1.52 x 2.3 inches and the small giraffe is 1.066 x 2.016.
I used the print and cut feature to do the sentiment. The font is CAC Camelot and sized at 25.10 however, any font will work. I added a black border and my finished card measures 4.5 x 5.75 inches.
I was so disappointed that they sold out of the June Hero Arts kit, but I am pleased how my card turned out.
Have a wonderful day!
