How to Make and Decorate Paper Rosettes

There are a number of videos on YouTube on how to make paper rosettes, but my technique is a little different so I want to share it with all of you. In this video, I also give you ideas on how to decorate your finished rosettes. They are so fun and easy to make!

Cameos are the newest trend and I just had to use one to decorate my rosette. Hope you enjoy the video!

Stay tuned for another fun project.

Love love love cameo's. Was married 40 years ago and wore a black & white one on my dress. Just like the one you made. Thanks for the idea.

Linda, your cameo card is just lovely with the touch of pink in the frame. I love your rosette and appreciate your tip of using tape to hold the paper. I will certainly try that next time! I haven't seen cameos being used - so I saw it first here at The Paper Boutique!
Thank you, also, for your kind comments on my blog. You make me feel so encouraged and I appreciate it.

Sue, thanks for the nice comment and question. The paper is DCWV and is from the Black Currant Stack.

I got the whole pack for $9.99 at Jo-Anns. Yahoo it was on sale.

Absolutely love this idea. Cameos are so classic and lovely. This would be nice for a Mother's Day card...I will probably give it a go. And I have always wondered how the little rosettes were made. Thank you so much for sharing. ~Kim

Thank you.

Hi just a thought... could you score a full page then cut into strips?
would make it easier if you need more than one.
would appreciate your advice.
thanks

Your rosette's are really beautiful! But you know that problem you had at minute 5 in your video? I solved that! I have a video about my solution on youtube and my blog: http://giftsfromdeeyll.blogspot.com/p/diy-tutorials-and-tips.html
on youtube I am here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zla3-K_9-4A
If you check it out please let me know what you think, as I haven't heard anything from other crafters I'm really wondering how helpful the tip is, ya know? My local crafters seemed to love it but maybe they just love me? :)

I just love rosettes! These rosettes and cards (and paper choices!) are lovely. I make rosettes all the time (well, over the last year...) and never thought of placing a cameo in the center! Butterflies, gems, and smaller rosettes: yes. And to shape the rosette to a more oval shape: great idea! More rosette fun for me...

I also score a single 12x12 sheet from top to bottom at the desired interval (1/8", 1/4", 1/2", etc.), *then* cut into strips of my desired depth (3/4", 1", 1.25". etc.), 'cause I usually make more than 1 rosette in a sitting, and I tend to the lazy side...

If I'm scoring at a wider interval, I'll join several strips to obtain the desired "fullness" for my rosettes (and prevent risk of tearing the paper). And...also a fan of the glue gun assist that someone on YouTube turned me on to a while back. (after getting over the fear of burning down the house...)

Thanks for sharing your creativity!
