Using Word to Create Faux Stitching Lines

A few weeks ago I did a post on making Christmas tag rosettes and I have received a number of emails and comments asking me to do a video on how I created the faux stitching lines.

In today’s video I demonstrate how to create this faux stitching technique and also how to create faux stitching on an A2 card.

Click here to see my video on tips and techniques for Making Paper Rosettes.

Thanks for visiting and have a great day!

Thanks for the video! I already knew how to use Word for things like this, but it has never occurred to me to use it for faux stitching! Can't wait to try it out!

I have never used word for projects like that. There are times that I want to add words in my squares, circles etc. Now you have showed me how. TFS

Very clever. Love using word for this. Never would have thought to try this, so thanks Linda. Will definitely come in handy for the upcoming Holiday Tags.

Another wonderful tutorial! I'm ashamed to say that I lack, even basic skills, with these programs. I also have an archaic version of Word. Despite these factors, I've been able to create transfers and text for my projects, thanks to your videos! I'm so grateful to you for all you share.

Hi Linda -- I use Word 2007 and I found that I could add text to my shapes without using a text box. By right-clicking the object and clicking "add text". Does that work with 2010? I love this idea and will use it a lot. Thanks.

Lynn: Thanks for the idea! It does work on 2010. However, when I insert a text box I have a little more flexibility when moving the text to any position. I hope that makes sense.

Yahoo! I learned a new short cut! Thanks for sharing!
