Valentine Card Nesting Technique Using Cameo or Cricut Machines

I love the nested look you get with metal nesting cutting dies, but unfortunately I do not own a lot of cutting dies. Jennifer McGuire recently posted a video showing how to layer metal nesting dies and I thought I would try the concept using my Silhouette machine.

I used Jennifer’s card design with the exception of the sentiment. My goal was to see if I could recreate her card using cuts from my Cameo. And I did! Now that I know it works, I can design my own cards using this technique and my Cameo or Explore Machine. Here is a link to Jennifer’s post and be sure to watch her video too. I am so grateful for Jennifer’s blog and have learned so much from her. Be sure to sign up for her emails too!

I purchased the Scallop Hearts Nests (#113263) from the Silhouette Design Store to make this card. The mini black hearts are from the same file. I just sized them to fit and used my Wink of Stella pen for added shine.

I am planning on doing a video on this technique in the next couple of months.

Thanks for watching and have a wonderful week!

This is so pretty! I also loved Jennifer’s post, so I 'm happy to know I can do something similar with the Silhouette machine :)
